As part of her Erasmus+ mobility, Jeanne spent three inspiring months in Denmark, completing an internship as a mural artist at Aalborg Zoo. The mobility was organised by the Aalborg Institute for Development (AID) under our AID Mobility Hub—a department dedicated to creating meaningful learning experiences for young talents across Europe.
Jeanne’s task was both ambitious and artistic:
to transform selected zoo spaces into immersive murals that reflect the natural habitats of the animals.
From the very first pencil sketches to the final brushstrokes, Jeanne managed the entire project herself. She:
Developed concepts and initial designs
Researched animals and their environments
Selected the appropriate materials
Executed the full mural painting process
Adapted creatively to weather, surfaces, and day-to-day challenges at the zoo
Her dedication, discipline, and artistic clarity brought the project to life in a way that exceeded expectations.
This mobility marked several firsts for Jeanne:
Her first professional experience abroad in her field
Her first time leading a creative project from start to finish
Her first opportunity to manage full artistic responsibility
Through this hands-on experience, she gained not only technical skills but also confidence, independence, and a deeper understanding of what it means to bring a creative vision to life in a real-world setting.
💬 “It’s the first time I’m really alone on a project… I did it all on my own, and I finished it.”
— Jeanne
Jeanne’s murals brought new colour, energy, and emotion to the zoo environment. Visitors now encounter vibrant visuals that enhance their experience and connect them more closely to the animals’ natural worlds.
Her work leaves a lasting imprint—not just on the walls of Aalborg Zoo, but on the people who witnessed her passion, commitment, and growth throughout the project.
At AID Mobility Hub, we believe that meaningful mobility experiences help young people discover their talents, develop new skills, and open doors to future opportunities. Jeanne’s journey in Aalborg is a beautiful example of how Erasmus+ mobilities empower individuals to grow professionally and personally—while contributing creatively to their host communities.
We are incredibly proud of Jeanne’s work and grateful for her energy and dedication.
Thank you for being part of our mobility program, and we wish you all the best as you continue your artistic journey!
